Is Alloy 52 (UNS K95050) an acceptable material for ASME Sect V111 Div 1 constuction? I tend to think no, but maybe there is a Code Case?

Even if somebody looked it up, what sort of verification are you going to do to confirm what they say? Do you just accept the word of some anonymous person over the Internet? When you get called into Court to defend your choice of material, how is that going to work? "Gee Judge, somebody named lyingguy on this website said it was good material to use and I believed him!"

Yes, I am dealing with a bad headache today, but this sort of question always amazes me.

vpl, considering the attitude of most employers (mine most def included)towards maintaining their libraries, I think it is a fair question, whether or not a Code Case exists. How else to determine whether to spend time looking for one and confirm it is relevant?

heatexguy, sorry no help here.

Mike
