I am starting a flexibility study for some piping designed to B31.3. The pipe material is A312 S31254 and I don't think it is listed in B31.3. I found some general properties of this material but no reference for temperature dependent allowable stress and thermal expansion coefficient that I could use in a program like CAESAR.

Any suggestions where to get this info? I have requested this from the client but they are not able to provide.

It looks like this is not a code material. The material supplier would be the best source... many found on a google search.

The material mentioned is listed in ASME II Table D. Please note that the material is listed under the ASME denomination, not ASTM, hence the material is listed as SA 312;- the UNS Number is correct as mentioned, S31254.

gr2vessels,

thanks for the help, I'll have a look in ASME II

Hooked,
I am surprised to hear that this material is not listed the caesar database, but in any case I suggest you to visit the Coade website and from the pull down menu, enter the Support tab and select the Discussions Forum, register with them and place a post there regarding this topic. You'll have the best feed back directly from the horse's mouth. Most likely they'll show you how to develop your own database on Caesar.
Cheers,

I did check the Coade Forum first as it is usually a good source of info. There was a topic on material but no information was available.

I was able to find another user some other contacts that have this material entered into their database. I have attached it if anyone else is interested.
