Hi everybody,
I have a couple questions regarding ALE adaptive meshing. I was experiencing excessive distortion during my Abaqus analysis causing the job to abort. I was under the impression that using ALE adaptive meshing would be able to prevent this distortion from occurring. However, when using it the job aborts instantly with the error message
"The elements contained in element set ErrElemExcessDistortion-Step1 have distorted excessively. The elements in element set ErrElemZeroALEMass-Step1 have zero or negative mass.Print-out suppressed for subsequent distorted elements There are a total of 143 excessively distorted elements."
Can anyone recommend how to change the adaptive meshing parameters to get rid of this problem or if not possible can anyone suggest another method for reducing distortion.
Thank!
Regards
Jonny
