Well, 5 years did pass between the release of the two codes. So, that's a couple more than we usually get with the IBC or with Concrete or such.
In my opinion, there isn't much difference between the two codes. Mostly just an effort to make the provisions a little easier to use. Adding user notes, making editorial changes that sort of thing.
Most of the changes are to the manual, tables and such. Some of the connection stuff in the manual has been improved, clarified, simplified. They added equation numbers to the various equations in the manual for easier reference, for example.
What changed in the spec itself? Off the top of my head:
Swapped chapter C and appendix 7. So, DA method is now the assumed method and alternate methods are referenced in the appendix.
I believe they improved/clarified the single angle code checking procedures.
Some stuff related to composite columns, I think (but I don't use them at all).
Increased bolt shear strengths.
