Hello
I begin my thesis next year; it involves fatigue strength of carbon fibre aircraft components. However, we are limited in the size of the part that we can test: up to 40cm long and 10 cm wide. Can anyone suggest a component which we can make to these dimensions, or alternatively, where I might find plans or drawings to do the same?
Cheers
John

Dear Sirs

I need to collect information about ;

causes of aircraft metalic fatigue

effects of the metalic fatigue on aircraft

I would be interested in supplying such a drawing and or metallic attachments in return for access to the test results.

Pls. supply details of your programme of work.

Hi,
Joints and splices are always critical parts in an airframe and realistic sizes fall within the scope of your test setup. You could consider tests on such items.
Also, there is a huge literature available on joints and splices. You could begin with the articles of Hart-Smith of McDonnell-Douglas/Boeing; they are very good and of real practical engineering significance.
