i'm working on using VSCMGs to control the attitude of an agile spacecraft

but i'm facing a major problem which is i don't even know what's an agile satellite what it's mission requirement what is the pointing precision and time response that are considered to be OK!

i couldn't find any clear response to my questions and i'm kinda of hoping that you can help and suggest to me some books or articles that can help me

thanksssssssssssss

Sounds like something for school; student postings are not allowed

it's not for school, maybe i wasn't clear enough , i worked before on earth observation spacecraft and now i want to move to agile satellites but i'm short in resources i couldn't found a book or a paper that explain what are the mission requirement (in short what are the acceptable pointing precision and time response for such system )

i hope it's clear now

Not particularly. Why would you think that satellites of this type have the same requirements? Does an arbitrary LEO satellite have the same requirements as an arbitrary MEO satellite? Wouldn't the pointing accuracy be a function of the exact mission of a satellite?

i didn't mean it in that way, first an agile satellite would work in a near polar LEO to insure a large coverage of earth, second a conventional earth observation satellite would point it's payload toward the earth center (Nadir) but an agile satellite beside the nadir pointing need to point the payload (camera) in a specific angular direction (different from the nadir pointing) to collect more data
so i guess the pointing accuracy is different and so the time response

ps: in non agile earth observation a pointing error of 1° is acceptable

Who is your customer?? I would suspect they would be very careful to specify exactly what they need/expect?

So, yes, I was dancing around that bush. Your customer should be the person to tell you what that pointing requirement is.

have a nice day
