Adhesive to bond Tyvek desiccant pouch to steal?

I would like to identify the best adhesive for bonding a ~5 oz (140 gm) Tyvek desiccant pouch to a steel surface under ambient conditions (out on the shop floor). One suggestion was to use a hot-melt PSA. Does anyone have experience using this type of adhesive for this application, or a better alternative?

HM PSA's are used a lot to seal Tyvek envelopes and they adhere well by virture of their softness and pressure sensitive character. However, their softness and pressure sensitivity work against you if the bond is under any stress or elevated temperatures.

How do you want to apply the adhesive?
How long do you want the bond to last?
Is the dessicant pouch under any stress?
How hot will it get?

Thanks for your reply, Tom. To answer your follow-up questions - We can apply the adhesive with a hot glue gun or caulk tube, the bond needs to last only one year, no stress is on the desiccant pouch, but the drum with the pouch on the lid is filled at ~100C then cools. So when the lid with the pouch attached is applied it could get pretty warm (possibly near 100C). What temp does a typical HM PSA soften?

Most HM PSA's will be soft enough at 100C that they'll creep without much stress. Waxy hot melts would have enough heat resistance to hold up at that temperature, but I'd worry about adhesion to Tyvek and metal. With most hot melts the kinds of things you do to make them adhere to non-porus substrates will have a negative effect on heat resistance. HM polyamides have good heat resistance and adhesion to metal. Polyamides have good resistance to oils, better than most HM's, but they are somewhat hydophilic. You might try calling an adhesive distributor to see if you can get a polyamide glue stick or one you can apply with a small HM applicator.
