Dear Coleagues:

At this moment, i'm designing a metallic structure for to support a milling machine in more remote extreme, it deals a cantilever reinforcement beam. It will be 4 meter longer
and it will be attached to a fundation in the other extreme.
The point, in this kind of attached machine, is to obtain vibration frequences values different to proper (natural) frequence value for to avoid high disturbs in normal operation of machine or resonancy problems inclusive. Could anyone indicate me usually values of frequences or periods for this type of configuration for to know if we have greater deviations or to apply sound design practices?

Thanks in advanced

It sounds as though you have a simple, single-degree-of-freedom structure. If I understand correctly, you are supporting a "metallic structure" at the end of a cantilever beam. If this is the case, your equation is the square root of (K/m) where, if you neglect the mass of the beam, K = EI/L and m is the mass of your "metallic structure". E = beam material Young's Modulus, I = beam area moment of inertia about the bending axis, and L = beam length (likely to the metallic structures cg)...perhaps I'm missing something...

Thanks GBor for your promptly answer.

It could be a missundertanding or probably my explanation was no so clear. The sistem is composed by a structure fixed to soil (reinforcement beam) with a machine in other extreme in cantilever.

We have calculated yet this value, so we've obtained a little value. We want to know ussually values for to apply improvements in our design if required (to weld more reinforcements or any other solution). Would you know where I can obtain this values?

Thanks again my friend
