Adding text to 3d model?

Okay I am working on a project where there are alot of electrical inputs. Now the client wants text labels on the 3d models. So what I did is just input some annotations in there for the text to show up. Problem is the text is opaque in a way where you can see all the text through the part on all the planes. So for instance you are on the top plane looking at a text label you can also see the text on the adjacent face as if the part was opaque but it's not.

Reason I did it this way is the customer is viewing the models in jt2go and not SolidEdge. So if there is an easier way to do this I am all ears. I tried using the Text Profile command buts its the same problem. I want to be able to only see the text on the face I put it on, not all angles. I couldn't find a setting to change this.

This is on V20 also if that matters. Thanks in advance, any help is much appreciated.

First I need to clarify. Are you actually trying to emboss or engrave lettering in your parts?

By the sounds of it, no. If that's the case, then you need to set up set up PMI dimensions. In your case, they will just be annotations but you can specify which plane they are on and then hide/show those PMI dimensions. I think they even autohide when you move off of the specific view orientation that aligns with the PMI plane.

Just a reminder, PMI is only available in the Classic version, not the versions below it. At least it's the case with V20.

Yes I specify which plane the annotations are on but they don't autohide. Say I have a 3x3x3in extrusion and I want text on the top and bottom of it f I look from the bottom I can see the text on the top face. Is there a way too have all the text only be visible on their corresponding face?
