Hi,
I've made a drawing of a cable (connector, cable and terminals).
Example :
cable_part.prt
cable_part_dwg1.prt
Now, for better explication of how to connect wires to the connector, I would like to add the connector component in cable drawing as reference and add some views of this connector.
It's possible ?
The other solution that I've found is copy a connector drawing view into the cable drawing.
This solution create a component connector as drawing reference.
With this solution I need to open the connector drawing and not only the component, again when I copy the view, if the connector view from is copied is outside the cable drawing format, NX give an error, then I need to change the drawing cable, past the view, move the view and change again the drawing format.
Apart my last solution, exist a more simple, fast solution to add different component views in other drawings ?

Thank you...

Using NX 8 and TC9.1

Insert -> View -> Base, expand the "part" dialog section (if necessary); choose Open, navigate to the connector part, choose model view to use, OK. This will insert a reference view of the other component. You can generate other views off of the base view (projected, section, etc), but the component will be marked as reference (it won't show up in the modeling application, parts lists, etc).

Once the Assembly Drawing has been created (views placed and Parts List generated) all you have to do is go back and select the Drawing border, press MB3, select 'Add Base View...' and select the 'Connector' part file. You will now be able to place orthographic and detail views of just the Connector. And this will have NOT effect whatsoever on what the Parts List shows for the count of Components even if the Connector was one of the Components used in the original Assembly that the Drawing is documenting.

Thank you all for this information.
Sorry if I didn't thought before.
Sometime, solutions are under our eyes.

Thank you...
