Hi,

I wanted to ask whether or not there is a point in importing custom geometry in Adams/Car. I understand that the graphics are altered in such manner, but does it change the calculation at all? So far, the only way I 've managed to import geometry was by attatcing it to an already existing part. But, parts have their own mass and inertia, so the geometry virtually changes nothing.

Thanks in advance,

Josef

I assume you mean you are defining the shape of the visual representation of the parts. No, the inertia properties of the part are not calculated by ADAMS from its 3d shape. Most CAD programs these days will spit out their own estimates, which you'll have to type in, so far as I know.

Cheers
