hi to all those who read my this thread
i'm a fresh one
when i want to design the anchor then i refer to the anchor formula and there is passive pressure need to calculate and thus i refer the formula for passive pressure the written on the note there is 1/2 gamma height2
in other note the formula is different!
make me so confuse, if can, can someone give me the link for the active &passive pressure explanation?
and why there is a '1/2' in front of gamma? can someone explain that to me?
thank for reading

That part of the equation is simply the area of the triangular part of pressure diagram as plotted in that figure, making it the force of that part.

Area of a triangle is base times one half the height.

thanks for the comment oldestguy
thanks for solving my question
so the formula is correct already?
is there any formula available for this situation?

Can you not pick up a good geotechnical text book like Peck Hanson and Thornburn?

thanks for the comment BigH
ya it's good to read the geotechnical text book but i'm couldn't master that easily as i'm not study in that field and i get confusing while reading as i not so understand what is that[sad]
anyways thank you =)

There are some good texts that explain things well . . .
