Hi,

Does anybody have any date on the acoustic properties of an empty shipping container. We need to build a wall from containers for the purposes of sound attenuation and calculate its effectiveness, however were provided no technical information on the same. If anybody has a reference or technical paper on this it would be appreciated.

Regards,

A wall of shipping containers, or a wall of shipping container walls?
In the former case, there are sizable gaps that won't do anything to attenuate.
Why do you need to calculate its effectiveness? Why not build an application specific wall that meets your attenuation requirements?
What are your attenuation requirements?

TTFN (ta ta for now)

A wall of empty shipping containers. I want to calculate its effectiveness so that an equivalent can be found. I.e. the attenuation requirement is that provided by the wall of containers, it is the benchmark which will be used to seek an alternative.
