Accelerometer

I am interested in constructing an accelerometer and related equipment ( or assemeble from existing parts).
- Accelerometer
- Signal conditioner.

Any suggestion is highly appreciated.

it discusses the Analog Devices ADXL50 Accelerometer

If i had to build on from scratch I would use the mass and spring technique.

An ADXL50 or ADXL150 could be okay does any one has an experince to share on interfacing these accelerometers with a PC and some programs.
