Hello,

I hope this is the right forum area to post this ...

I'm learning about analog accelerometers which use springs to suspend the moving mass inside them. I've looked but can't find so far what the material is for the springs. I have a hunch it would need to be a material that's temperature resistant so deviations in temp. don't throw the spring rating off and it would also have to be dimensionally stable during temperature variations too.

Any guidance on this is much appreciated! Thanks.

Your question would be better posted in forum693: And please refrain from cross posting unless you mention that you have done so.
Even then it dilutes the quality of the answers you will get

A stable spring material used for measuring devices where the elastic modulus stays constant over the range of temperature is Ni-span "C" or Iso Elastic. See "Spring Design and Application" Edited by Nicholas P. Chironis, McGraw Hill, 1961

At pages 294 to 297 and 310 to 313.

Thanks isrealkk! That is extremely helpful and I will see if I can find that reference book.

Would you happen to know any suppliers of those types of springs? Their size would be pretty small at about 1/2" or less.
