ACAD 2008 - Tables and formulae

Can never remember how to spell plural of formula, but anyway.

In autocad tables, when I write 200/225 (or something like) it is show as such, whilst my friend does the same and it is converted to a formula (being something just less than 1).

Does anybody know how to turn off this formula function globally.
