my question is how to select pipe for effluent characteriastics, for handling acids, dyes and intermediates with organics.
i am working in effluent treatment plant project, for that i want to choose best material of construction.
i want to use FRP pipe, is it safe,
my application temp goes to 95 c.

hi,
since u work in a effluent treatment plant, the effluent stream characteristics will not be constant. since u r handling acids, organics, the best material of construction is SS316. but this is costly material. PVC pipes are inert to most fluids, but u would have to check MOC in some handbook like Perry's, Merck Index etc. FRP pipes are also resistant to most fluids but there is a question about their strength to withstand stresses like high temperatures, dead weight loading, bending moments etc.

There are also treated PVC pipes that are designed to withstand temperatures about 100 deg C, and they are far less expensive than SS.
