ABB VFD Drive Software
I need to determine the harmonic currents injected into system impedance by ABB ACS580 VFDs where the following has already been installed:
- Transformer: 33000/415V, 2500kVA, urz = 6.25%,Dyn11
- ABB ACS580 VFDs
The ABB DriveSize software does not allow entry of above data, instead it selects transformer and VFD size and does not allow user sizes to be entered.
Is ABB software available where the user can enter Utility data, transformer size and VFD / motor sizes ?
My requests to ABB remain unanswered.

I found by trial and error:
1) Select ‘General purpose drives’
2) Go to the last item (motor) in the configuration tree
3) Enter motor rated shaft output power, or the next standard size below
4) Click on the select unit icon ( a 315kW motor appears after 250kW chosen in step 3) )
5) Select the next component up – the VFD, enter the ‘Calculated value’ amps
6) Click on the select unit icon and a VFD is selected
Choose various I continuous until the software selects the user defined VFD.
7) Select next component up – the Network and transformer
The ‘DSU’ is the VFD rectifier kVA
8) Ignore the transformer size error message
9) Click the icon with the sine wave
10) Enter the correct transformer data
11) Click Calculate
