Hello everyone,

I have a laminate model composed of linear element sets of matrix and truss, designed to analyze crack development within the laminate. To simulate a crack, I created a notch by modifying the .inp file and importing the model as an orphan mesh. Currently, I'm exploring methods to refine the mesh specifically in the crack area. I attempted subdivision, but unfortunately, the model did not converge, and only one increment was successfully completed.
The .inp file is attached

Any suggestions or alternative approaches would be greatly appreciated.

I can't download this file, please try uploading it again (maybe with a different name/extension).

When I submit this analysis, it reaches 71.9 % before diverging. In the results, you may notice a significant distortion of the elements in the crack region while the top and bottom parts of the sample not only stretch but also bend sideways.
