Abaqus 'SMACkmCaeKerMod' error when meshing

Same issue as with thread799-389607. I am using Abaqus/CAE 2016 on Windows 7.

I get the error 'SMACkmCaeKerMod' has stopped working when specifically trying to mesh a copied and scaled part. No such error occurs when meshing the original part. I've isolated the issue to trying to mesh a copied part. My Abaqus installation was verified and successful.
