Hello everyone
I am working on a beam encastrated from one side and free from the other side. i am using a RIKS method in which i apply an axial load to make the beam buckle after that i made a second static generale step(using the restart and the INP file) in this step i will start from the end of my riks step meaning i wish to have the "bucked shape"(buckling mode 1) of the beam and i want to encastrate the beam from both side keeping that shape and applaying a new vertical load. but the problem is that with the riks method when i do my second step it doesn't take in account that there was a RIKS method. I did this with two static general steps (when restarting from the end of the other and it worked).

i would appriciate any help to solve this problem thanks in advance

I can't reproduce that. Check in you have NLGEOM active in the first analysis and check the *Restart, write command. Check also the *Restart, read in the second analysis.
