Dear all

How the material property in Abaqus behaves?. For example if in the properties I have entered the values of plasticity till 1200 degree Celsius. But suppose during the analysis the temperature is above 1200 degree Celsius. How the Abaqus going to take that effect. Will it plot a linear graph based on the current date provided?.

Abaqus interpolates the data between the given data pairs and keeps it constant outside the specified range.

@FEA way

Does it means that if the assigned value at 1200 is 20MPa then at 1600 degree Celsius it assumes the 20MPa itself?
Do you have any link to the documentation explaining the same?

That’s right. Because of this it’s advised to specify plasticity data for whole range of expected stresses.

This is described in the documentation chapter "Material data definition".

Dear FEA way

The issue is,its quite difficult to get high temperature values. Any way I will look in the Material data definition again. Anything other than the discussed I will post it here.

Thank you @FEA way
