Element deletion issue

Hi everyone,

I am currently having an issue with the error shown below. ERROR: There is only one excessively distorted element. I am trying to model a fiber optic cold drawing simulation. I have three materials hair fiber, intface and polymer matrix.
The model should be producing fragmentation in the fiber. However, the model fails below no matter what parameters I change, I think I should be able to delete the distorted element and that should be the fragment location?

Inp. file is attached, any help is appreiacted.

**ERROR: Excessive distortion of element number 1268 of instance PART-1-1

***ERROR: The fatal error will generate a new field output in the last
increment. All variables applicable to the current procedure and
material type(s) will be written to the output database.

Hello,

Distorted elements usually have determinant of Jacobian almost null or even negative which may cause numerical error in the analysis. Guess you should create a new mesh without distorted elements.
