I am trying to simulate the machining process of one layer from a simple block geometry. I have used Johnson Cook material model and the same damage criteria for the workpiece. The tool is regarded as rigid. I have the element deletion criteria switched on. When the simulation is done the machined layer forms a chip instead of element deletion. When I check the STATUS value in the odb file all elements have the value 1 meaning that the elements are not deleted. I have attached my input file here. I would be grateful if any help can be provided. I am using Dynamic explicit. Thank you.
