ABAQUS crack propagation 1

I am needing to see how a crack propagates through a metal specimen in ABAQUS. Does anyone have any clue as to how to even start this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I am in version 6.8 and there are over 100 hits. If you are using a very old version (3years?) it may not be implemented yet. VCCT (virtual crack closure technique)
