I am not able to import into ABAQUS a STEP file exported in Pro/E. Can anybody tell me the possible reasons. I am using ABAQUS 6.3 and Pro/E 2001 version . Abaqus displays a message saying that this is not a valid step file.

Hello roshan,

Let me see I think I have run with this problem before. First able make sure that the extension for the step file in proE and Abaqus is the same. I recalled trying to a step file a running with this problem. I just don't remember if it was with Femap, Patran or Abaqus. Have you try to translate your model using IGES ? That should work!
