I used to use *symmetric model generation to generate my mesh in the previous version of Abaqus (Abaqus 6.2). My model which has the edge shared with the symmetry axis is generated and working (I use 20 noded brick elements). The wedge which is created at the symmetric axis is given as repeated node to be completed as 20 node brick element. And I was able to do analysis by this method. However, in this new version (Abaqus cae 6.3), my model is not displayed as previous. There are some problems with the wedge element created from the *symmetric model generation. I have tried to change a few element to be 15 node wedges element and it's working. Is there any way for me to be able to use the data created directly from *symmetric model generation or I have to convert the element at the symmetric axis to 15 noded wedge element manually every time?
