A question about engine prelube pumps

We build electrical generators powered by large natural gas engines. Prelube is done with a generic gear pump driven by a generic air motor. I.e., bought separately, plus a shaft coupling and a simple bracket.

Several people make an engine oil accumulator. From memory, one is the Moroso Accusump. They are pricey and one needs to remember to leave them charged at shutdown.

I used to build them for yachts all the time, Graingers used to sell (maybe still do) a small 12VDC oil transfer pump that worked quite well, pump and motor was around $300.
Made a simple control circuit that when you turned the key to crank the engine, the pump came on and when pressure built, a Hobbs switch closed and allowed engine crank, a bypass button was installed so if you needed to start right away or the engine oil was hot you could bypass the Hobbs switch and crank. The pump control circuit was interlocked so you could not run the pump with the engine running.
If it's a turbocharged engine you may want to consider adding the ability to do post lube for a short duration as well.

I had the pieces of a prelube pump in my hand today.
An I-R air motor, MVA017B, which has a keyed 5/8" shaft,
and a Viking internal gear pump, which has a 5/8" female keyed hole in its center. It appears to be a custom part for Waukesha, and bears part number WED-208478.
They just bolt to each other around a piloted flange; no coupling required.
