I have heard some pretty good things about this carbon fiber stuff as far as tensile strength, light weight, and eliminating the need for lubricated parts, but does anyone know how it handles extreme heat and pressure fluctuations? The manner in which I plan to use it involves a rapid heat change from about room temperature to possibly 2,000+ degrees Celcius and back again using rapid adiabatic expansion and possibly water to cool it. I haven't worked out the pressure yet, but it will fluctuate rapidly as well. All this will take place within a chamber of approximately 4 cubic centimeters.
