a file doesn¦t open

Hi,
I am trying to open a solidworks part sent by my collegue and solidworks doesn´t want to open this file as : "can´t open. future version".
Does anyone know how to open the file?
Just precising that we are using the same version of solidworks.

Check to make sure they are the same SW versions.
Otherwise, try parasolids.

Do you both have the same SP installed?

SP doesn't matter, only major releases matter, but in SW 2012SP5 and SW 2013 that should work.

Try resetting your registry faq559-507 and see if that fixes the issue... if it does then its a settings issue.
