Can this be changed for a different classification?

EX: Make PAX File for unique dwg requirements.
Drawings made from this "New File" tab have a suffix "_rdp1" instead of "_dwg1"

You can find this in the customer defaults for Native files.

If you are working in Managed environment (Teamcenter), then you, unfortunately, cannot change it that easily. This is depending on the relation type used for the UGPart.
