Hello,
I'm designing a 5C spindle for a small lathe. I have the basic dimensions but I'm not sure about the angular tolerance and surface finish of the taper.
Its intended for a manual lathe with a 1hp motor. Run-out should be >0.0005". If possible give my tolerances ranges from "very good" to "ädequate" taking in consideration the application.
Is a 40mm outer diameter for the spindle ok? Could the taper be unerneath the front bearing, zero overhang? Are ABEC-1 40x60mm single row radial bearings ok?
Thank you very much.
Fernando
