Is the building Exposure open, enclosed, or partially enclosed?
Internal pressure coefficients – For design the internal pressure coefficient for a partially enclosed building shall be used unless the design professional can show that the shelter design meets the requirements and definitions of ASCE 7-05 para 6.2 for an enclosed building. Here on the FL coastline in the "wind borne debris region" and then the openings must be protected by rated glazing and doors, or by shutters, for it to be considered enclosed.
Internal Pressure Coefficients for Buildings (Table 6-5 in ASCE 7-05)
GC = 0 for open buildings
GCpineg = -0.55 for partially enclosed buildings
GCpipos = 0.55 for partially enclosed buildings
GCpipos = 0.18 for enclosed buildings
GCpineg = -0.18 for enclosed buildings
Atmospheric pressure change (APC) may need to be considered depending on wind event.
