That is what I was thinking. We are having memory trouble with some of our larger drawings. When we set resolved and turn Large Assembly Mode off we get a not enough memory error.

I have tried to open it on both a 1gb (original machine) and a 2gb station and get the same error on both.

I have a meeting here in about 5 minutes, when I get out I will give you the specs for our work stations maybe you can offer some insight.

It might be time to consider upgrading to XP for two reasons:

1) The memory issue. (Also see thread thread559-107229)

2) SW2006 is the last release that will support Windows 2000.

I believe SW give a "out of memory" error when approaching the 1.6 barrier, was that the error you got or did you get exactly the message you stated?

Might be obvious, but did you check your page file settings? I happend to me once, after I re-installed I forgot to set it...

My systems are as follows:

P4 3.0 ghz
2gb ram / 1gb ram
Quadro 4 980 XGL Video 128mb / 6722 driver

SW05 SP2

The difference between the two machines is the ram and the video card. But both machines have the same video driver version and video ram.

Yes the error message is the "out of memory"

Drawing file size is 32mb

Try updating the driver, SW has a new approved driver.
Also try running a "Modify" on your system - FAQ at my website.
