3D sketch - move?

I have a 3D sketch that was created off of imported IGES curves (I was not the original modeler). The 3D sketch is undefines (i.e. blue). I want to translate (or move in SW term). This does not seem possible with 3D sketches. Is this true? The Tools\Sketch Tools\Move command is blanked out. What I would like to do is move all the entities in the sketch as a whole a certain distance away from the origin. Any thoughts? Heck I would mind moving the origin if that is the case.

Can you move your geometry before creating the 3D sketch? I just tried the Modify Sketch tool on a 3D sketch, but it's grayed out--so I don't think you can move a 3D sketch around like you can with 2D. Perhaps if you move your geometry first (IGES curves), you'll get what you want. You can do this in the context of an assembly by placing the imported IGES file within an assembly, moving it where it needs to be relative to your origin, and using a "new" part to copy the curves into a 3D sketch.

Reason trumps all. And awe trumps reason.

If splines, select the spline, at bottom of feature tree props, select "proportional", exit. Select all lines in 3D sketch (not points), drag to new location.

1. Place a point at the location you want to move to
2. Select everything in the sketch
3. Hold crtl button down
4. select the point in the sketch you want to move, and start to drag
5. let go of ctrl button
6. continue dragging and drop on point in step 1.
