i'm doing surface modeling with GSD/Free style workbenches available.how should i add a relation to a 3d curve and a model's edge to be tangent or equal curvature? i also want to control the tangency weight.

i did a match constraint between the surface edge and the the 3d curve, but this feature changes the surface to be tangant with the curve, and i cant set the source to 3d curve. it gives and error and recommends a solution: "convert the source element into a datum and repeat"
now how can i convert the 3d curve into a datum?

Quick and dirty way to convert a curve into a datun curve, copy it and paste special : Result without link. This will leave you with a dumb curve with no parents.

you can also use the Converter Wizard in FSS

As you can see on the picture the Match curve function in FSS can help you to control the curvature or tangency of the curve based on the edge of the surface.

But the 3D Curve has to be converted into an isolated Curve.

You can also use the GSD Spline :

In this case the Spline is linked with the surface edge.
