Hello Everyone:

How can you specify the orientation of an annotation view to make sure the text diplays in certain direction?

Thanks,

Annotations are in the Part Design. To change the orientation: right click your annotation, go to transfer view plane, select annotation and then select the plane you prefer.

I believe the view orientation is based on the current axis system. So, you might have to create a new, rotated axis before you create the view plane. By default, annotation text follows the X axis. You can define the view direction by inverting the red arrow when you first create the view - I don't think you can invert the direction after it's created.

I did create a seperate axis system to use as the orientation of the annotation view, but it always places it at the origin. This is happening in R15 SP1 and R14 SP6 when I have a product with on part that has the extra axis system . The strange thing is that in R14GA the annotation view orients itself to the extra axis system and not the origin.

Are you working in the Product Functional Tolerancing & Annotation workbench?

No, I'm working in assembly design
