Is there anybody out there that knows about manufacturing very fine 316 stainless steel rope. The 'rope' diameter is 0.5mm and has to be made from 7 strands (i.e. each strand 0.07mm diameter). The quantity required is approximately 900,000 metres and has to be supplied in the form of 30m long lengths x 30,000 off. The rope has to be pre-stretched to remove its initial constructional extension. The end user (a famous artist)has stated that the wire needs to be in a state so that when a weight is placed on the rope and then removed, the rope returns to the same length as before, i.e. no non-elastic extension.
