304 threaded into 15-7

I have a hand-tightened "plug" of 304 being used in a 15-7 condition A, 7/16-20 threaded hole. Do I need to be concerned with galling between the two? I have never worked with 15-7 material before.

Why are you using 15-7 in the A condition?

Yes, galling will be a problem.

We've changed the plug to 7075-T6. As for using the annealed condition vs precipitation hardened state, you'd have to ask our Materials guru.

Galling is still a concern with aluminum threads against stainless steel threads.
