Hi,
We have a building with 5 AHU,each AHU has 2-way valve for water flow control and two of them have a supporting pump. Now we realy need to change those 2-way vavle with 3-way valve. So what about the supporting pump can we fix it befor or after 3-way valve or use a main supporting pump?
What is the 3-way valve's advantages against 2-way valve?

In order to answer regarding the support (Booster pump?) I need more info on the system.

But 2-way valves are used in variablr flow applications and 3- way in constant flow. One of the reasons for design a variable flow system is to save energy in water pumping.

If you have 3 and 2 way vlvs mix in the same system it will work but you will not save all that you can save. 3w vlvs by-pass the water not needed for cooling, thus the pump will always have to move this water around.

You might want to see queng tread "VFD application"

Good luck!!!

naifmbo,

A couple of questions:

Why do you need to change the 2-way valves with 3-way?

What was the purpose of the pumps?
