I have an existing 3" sch40 A333 Gr.6 pipe which is located aboveground but it is used as a part of pipeline. Currently the design pressure of this line is 1440 psig. We need to increase this design pressure to 2250 psig. The flange will be changed out with 1500# flange. We will re-pressure test the existing piping to 2250 psig x 1.5.

The pipe is used for sweet dry fuel gas. Is there any problem to do this? Can somebody give some comments on this? Thanks.

Well, the existing staff was done a couple of years of ago. The aboveground piping is done under B31.3. But we will use it purely for a part of pipeline to connect two risers at the same site.

Our existing pipeline is built to CSA Z662.

Since it is sweet fuel gas, I would like to leave corrosion allowance zero. I use both CSA and B31.3 to calculate the pipe design pressure. It seems Sch 40 will work for both.

They experience solar wind at the ISS. Gravity also exists in space. That is how the station stays in orbit. We can call it microgravity if you prefer. ;-)

But it also has counteracting centripital accelaration, so actually I prefer rounding off to 0 acceration. :) :)
