could someone please tell me if there is such a code that states what colors you must use for three phase wiring. 380volt 3 phase. If so can you get around the code if both ends are markee with lables that match your prints.

If you are in UK, or working to UK regs:

The proposed colours for the conductors of three-phase circuits are brown, black and grey with a blue neutral conductor, in place of the traditional red, yellow and blue with a black neutral. Again, the bi-colour green-and-yellow marking of protective conductors will remain unchanged.

Switching from a standard with a black hot wire to a black neutral? That sounds like a fun transition.

Look closely and you'll see the black and the blue actually swapped functions. An act of absolute bloody madness.

Is this an IEC thing or just the UK?

So, if there is one three-phase color code, how do you differentiate between systems of different voltage levels in the same building?

dpc... it is our beloved European Union!

david beach... by cable marking(tagging) not colour

I agree with scottyuk .... this is madness!
