Hello,
Our firm is trying to find a 3-D modeling software that best suites our requirement to make a 3-D model of fired heaters including the

structural members,
stiffeners,
shell plate
convection & radiant coils etc.
Platforms
refractory

We are trying to find a software to model the entire heater with all the details including structual steel + coils + refractory.
Let me know if there are any recommended softwares.
Thanks

You might want to delete this post and re-post in the "Mechanical" or "Heat Transfer" section. They may know more about this than we do??

Sounds like you want 3D CAD, usual suspects are Inventor, SolidWorks, Solid Edge and Pro Engineer. They are all fine and the quality of the results is dependent on the user not the software.

Once you have a 3D model, what are you going to do with it?

That's a better determinant to use for selecting a tool. Most any modern drawing package can make some kind of 3D model. All of them are really just collections of numbers, that are then used to do other things, like:
- generate physical models, say via rapid prototyping
- generate 2D drawings for fabrication
- insert into someone else's 3D model, of say a site or an assembly
- conduct flow simulations within the modeled cavity
- conduct thermal simulations of the assembly
- more

Each available tool produces models best suited for one of those subsequent operations, and less well suited for others.
