I'm currently modeling a full, standard bow truss in Risa 3D but would like to model and load it as a 2D model. I wasn't sure if anyone recommended any types of 2D modeling software that is fairly easy to learn as well as would produce good results. Being free would also be very nice. Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks

I'm not sure what your goal is. Could you use RISA 3D and add reactions in the Z direction to simulate a 2D model?

You could just use the 3d software. The only benefit that I can think of with 2d software is it is sometimes easier to pick up and learn. Risa makes a 2d analysis program, although not free, or you could write your own spreadsheet for solving it.
