2960rpm motor at 3800 rpm

We Use 2960 rpm Motor(50Hz) to operate at 3800 rpm.



I apply VVVF(Inverter) on Motor(50HZ cetrifugal Motor) of multistage volute Pump in R/O Desalination Facility.

To get Performance of Pump, We must apply 63 Hz to 50 Hz Motor.

Operating RPM is higher than RPM on Motor Nameplate.
( rpm of 50 Hz motor : 2960 / Real Operating rpm of motor : about 3800)

I want to know problem in that operating condition.

Exceeding the rated rpm will affect the performance of the electric motor with time and to avoid this why don't you make of a frequency converted so it's will barethe load and it's will also increase the frequency of the motor which in turn increase the speed of the motor. Take the rating into considration is very important in engineering.

Running at 63hz should cause no problems to your motor, as far as the bearings go..It will obviously shorten the regreasing intervals if this is done,,or the bearing life!!
This said..you must make sure that running the pump that much faster isnt going to overload the motor!!

If the V/Hz relationship is maintained and you have proper overload protection then I believe your only concern is with mechanical failures such as bearings and such.
I have not had experience with such a large change in RPM from nameplate ratings but I know I would be contacting the manufacturer on this one to get their input.
