Dear colleagues,

I have a plane strai problem that does not converge:

The model is a artificial material pipe (liner) which is inserted in another (host) pipe in order to sanate it.

The host pipe and the liner are close fit, so I modeled the connection with the gap elements with insignificant tensional stiffnes. The space betweent them is described with an initial gap of ~ 1,5 mm. Because it is a stability problem, I conduct a nonlinear static analysis, where the load is incremented to a double load.

Unfortunately, the analysis stops after 5 secconds.

I would be very happy if someone could help me get the model analysed.

You can find the model attached.

Thank you all in advance.

Vladimir,
The problem does not have sufficient constraints. These elements only have 2 dofs. Since it is a 2D problem use permanent constraints to constrain the out of plane motion and rotations. Next you only have x constraint for rigid body motion, since you built model in XY plane, I believe you will need a y constraint also.
