Does anyone have one of these joist catalogues that they can post?

I have a project where these joists are existing in the roof structure, and I need to know their capacities. The owner wants to expand a deck area to the roof. The joists are typically 14" minimum X 20" deep max, with varying flange sizes and types, and plywood webs of 3/8" and 15/32" thickness.

RedBuilt currently owns the rights to these joists, but has not saved the catalogues of the era. I threw mine out a few years ago and am kicking myself right now.

Redbuilt has told me just to go by the least depth and increase the value by 25% for the maximum moment capacity. That seems pretty slight of the hand to me.

Thanks.

Sounds like a round about way of telling you to go with the average depth. And that seems pretty reasonable.

I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.

Thanks Koot, but I know the tables exist as I used to have them.

I would just feel more confident on the listed capacities rather than computed ones.

I have some tables for single tapered open web TJs.
I don't recall ever seeing them for Ijoists; and pretty much like KootK took midspan depth moment capacity plus a few percent wingage to account for joist tapering a little faster at the start than the moment diagram.
good luck

I did find the tapered open web tables (TJL's. etc) and one page of the plywood web tapered TJI's from the 2000 catalog, but it does not deal with TJI25's or 35's. It starts at 45's.

Still looking... Thanks.
