Greetings,
I need to weld Austenitic Stainless Steel Seamless tube 18Cr-9Ni-3Cu-Cb-N which is 3/16 dai to a 1” x 1” x 1/8” plate at one end. What material should the 1” x 1” x 1/8” plate be and what filler metal should be used? I have no UNS or Spec. no for the tubing or plate.

It would appear that you are welding what the Japanese refer to as Super 304H. Bohler Welding has a matching filler metal on stock in Houston, otherwise you will need to go to Sumiken.
