Thanks for the reply, it ia currently ran on generator load before the mains supply is turned on. Maybe this could be causing a problem. I was also thinking the crimps could be the problem.
Hi
On the site i am working on we have 2 CVTs. The problem is the capacitor bank, first at the one end of the bank and now at the other end, is that the bridge pieces are failing. This has caused a breakdown of the respective capacitor. The bridge pieces are discolouring, but what is strange...
Hi all
I received a calculation from the battery supplier. I am trying to understand where he gets his figures. The one thing that is holding me back is the Kt factor. Any ideas as to what this is?
Thanks in advance
HI
i am designing a db with indication lamps on the fuses to indicate a blown fuse. i am connecting them with voltage blocking diodes to avoid one blown LED showing on every fuse LEDs. my question is can i get a diode module that, say has 20 diodes, i am not too sure how these look, but i...
i have been asked to look into this and see if it exists. i have researched and only found stationary vented lead acid. i haven't come across stationary vented Nicad. i am looking for a descriptive definition but it difficult to find, can anyone assist me regarding this. thanks in advance
ok i was thinking that would have been the case.
well i have balanced the loads on the UPS, we were given 13kVA for the DCS and instrumentation as we are not involved in that design, my senior thinks that this is single phase but i don't think that should matter as it should be the single phase...
i am currently sizing a UPS system.
the supply voltage is 525V, it goes through a transformer before it goes through the online double conversion UPS.
the output voltage is 200/115VAC, i have worked out the load to be 150A and the backup standby is 2 hours.
what is confusing me is, do i size...
is there any good website or articles to help a novice when compiling dbs for UPS, DC supply etc. it doesn't look too difficult but i am not sure about fault ratings and what to look out for when designing these, i have most of the loads, i also need to compile a rfq but that shouldn't be too...
when sizing cables i looked at in work, i saw starting power factor at 0.3 and motor starting current x 7. i would like to know why this is the case, what losses indicate the 0.3 starting power factor and what losses indicate to multiply the starting current by 7. i have been browsing for an...
hi
i have to size the cables going to an RTU panel. what typical signals would go to this RTU panel. i am not familiar with the RTU panels. any help would be appreciated
Hi all
i am currently working a lot on UPS and DC supply. it is my first time working in this field, i would like to master it as much as possible. i was wondering can you guys recommend good reading material either through the web or hard copy books. i want to order some books irrespective as...
hey thanks for all the replies
upon further discussions with my seniors, they believe that a normal SWA cable with a separate does the same job. have you guys heard of this. obviously with supply and delivery time SWA cable with a separate earth would be the ideal solution for me.
also SWA...
thanks for the reply,
scanned through that and rang lapp, they only do those cables up to 120 mm2 for 3 core. i require 3 core 185mm2, any other suggestions
have you guys ever installed braided cables for VSDs.
i would have thought SWA would do the same but the project i am on requires the screen to be braided.
i am struggling to get information from suppliers, most cable companies said they would make them on request, are these cables so uncommon...
hey just a word of thanks, got this data sheet off flexicor, we were told there was only one supplier and it wasnt flexicor.
i think the way to go is plain kwena cable, i realise the chances of a thief making a correct assumption at late night is unlikely but bare copper earth wire is a serious...
Hi,
