    CaCl2 LPG Dryer Rental

I'm looking for a rental CaCl2 lpg dryer to handle about 6000-7000 bbl/d. Anyone out there know who might be able to supply this (anywhere in North America)? We'd probably be willing to buy one if it was available ASAP...like yesterday.

    LPG Unloading

You will not get any useful answers with the information that you have provided. Do you need a reheater? I can't see why you would from the ship to the bullets. Do you need a booster pump? How the heck would anyone know? Does the pipeline go 4000 m up a mountainside? How big is the pipe...

Selecting Amine for gas Sweetening Process

dogtop: What does HCl absorption have to do with amine selection for natural gas sweetening? Its like the original post asked "what is 2 plus 2?" and you responded "bananas". Arthisiv: When selecting amines I always consult with the vendor (i.e. Dow Chemical). Its pretty much necessary if...

Where can i get Hysis tutorials?

Maybe I missed something but HYSYS tutorials are either HYSYS files or instructions/walk-throughs on how to use a particular feature...you need to already have a HYSYS license to do a tutorial. I don't understand how reading the tutorial document will allow you to 'sample' the software...

    P&ID symbol for flow splitter/joiner

Seems ridiculous to me (without knowing the whole story). It gave me a bit of chuckle when I imagined someone going to buy pipe fittings and specifying a 'flow joiner' instead of a tee. How about 'flow benders' for elbows and 'flow stoppers' for valves? In all seriousness, I have never seen...

    Max Flow through pipe

I sincerely hope Alberto gets the help that he needs. Forgive me for being suspicious but the problem statement reminds me of some of my old fluid mechanics homework assignments (from what I can recall 15 years ago).

Should the air dryer not be upstream of the receiver?

    Pressure Drop

Liquids. Depending on where the gas is coming from and where you are in the world this could be an issue. Once you have multiple phases, the work gets much trickier.

    distillation column simulation

dcasto's suggestion is very helpful. It also points to a valuable lesson for people that use process simulators. Simulating is not simply an exercise in connecting a bunch of things together to make it look like your actual PFD/P&IDs. You need a sound understanding of the underlying...

    distillation column simulation

Yes, you need to use the recycle operation (diamond with an R in it). Read the AspenTech help on how it works as you may need to tweak it to get it to converge. You should probably install it in a place where you have the best guess at the stream parameters.

    distillation column simulation

If you are simulating the overheads outside of the column unit then you need to have a Recycle operation installed in your simulation. Then you put in a best guess for the pump discharge (or other stream that you may choose for the recycle). You may need to play around with iteration...

Drilling & tapping an elbow for relief valve

Like PatrickR, I don't have an answer with respect to code. I have seen a lot of pipe and relief valves but I have never seen anything like that before. My engineering spidey-sense is telling me its wrong. Piping code aside, why on earth would you put the valve there? If you find out the...

    Completion Design guide

I am a bit confused. Flair being defined: 1. A natural talent or aptitude; a knack: a flair for interior decorating. 2. Instinctive discernment; keenness: a flair for the exotica. With your new found flair you should be able to naturally discern the answer to your query.

What is the temp of this? I need an equation.

I think you missed the point of IRStuff's recommendation. Why do you need to know the distance? What kind of furnace is this? You are unable to place a distance measurement device in the furnace yet you seem to be able to place a temperature sensor inside. Why is this? There are numerous...

Who are the major players in Wind Energy?

FreddyNurk: Enercon would be up there if it weren't for the fact that they are in a dispute (patent related?) with GE and are unable to sell there product in the US...though I think that this expires in a couple of years.

    What is a choke plant

A choke plant (sometimes referred to as a J-T plant or auto-refrigeration plant)is a gas plant that utilizes the pressure of the inlet gas stream (sufficiently high due to compression or high wellhead pressures) and the Joule-Thomson effect (an expansion valve in the system)to create the...

    HCl tank pressure relief vents

The HCl tanks I have history with (back from my old chlorate days) all had wet scrubbers on the vents. During loading of the tank the displaced air had to be scrubbed...at 37% HCl vapor pressure is very high. Since the effluent of the scrubber was open to atmosphere no pressure other pressure...
